#119 - Hingham

This is the place to go!  World's End in Hingham is special.  Comprised of four coastal drumlins (spoon shaped hills formed by glaciers) there are 4 miles of walking/hiking trails in the midst of the Hingham Bay.  There sight of water surrounds you and we had views of Boston too.  Now owned by the Trustees of Reservations, the 251-acre property was first conceived as a 163 home subdivision.  Landscaped by Frederick Law Olmstead, we want to visit again in other seasons after appreciating the sweeping winter views.  The land was also considered for UN Headquarters (1940's) and a Nuclear Power Plant (1960's).
