#176 and #177 - Leominster and Fitchburg
We walked in Leominster (#176) and Fitchburg (#177) with our dog Duchess.
This photo of Duchess taken at the lovely Doyle Community Park & Center, a Trustees property. Leominster is the 2nd largest city in Worcester County and is the birthplace of Johnny Appleseed. It is also known as ‘Comb City’, as it was a major manufacturing center for hair combs (from animal horn/hoof to injection molded plastic).
Then we moved north to Fitchburg. We thought we’d continue to focus our walkind day around our intrepid canine companion, Duchess. We ran across this dog park (which Duchess is christening) in Fitchburg’s Coolidge Park, to let her have a run. The park sits near Fitchburg State University, and has a 1.0 mile walking loop that encircles multiple athletic fields and a community pool. FSU Softball’s Varsity field is in this complex
