Bedford, Burlington, Woburn and Winchester (#233 - 236)

Bedford #233 - In 1637 2,200 acres of land were granted to John Winthrop (1st governor) and Thomas Dudley (Lt. Gov) along the banks of the Concord River. The 2 men decided to divide the land at two giant boulders seen in this picture. These rocks are known as the “Brothers Rocks."
Burlington #234 - We are 2/3 of the way there! We asked our good friend, and Burlington native, Michael Keohane, where we should walk and he said: “if you want the true Burlington experience, walk the mall”. So we did!
When we thought about Woburn #235, A Civil Action came to mind. The book and movie pinpointed the cancer cluster WR Grace caused on the banks of the Aberjona River. This park was built on the EPA’s Superfund site. Ironically we walked it on Earth Day.
Winchester #236 - We parked in downtown Winchester and explored the shops, restaurants, and lovely municipal buildings around Mill Pond. This structure is the Buildings Department office, next to the public library. Winchester is one of the wealthiest towns in MA.
