Big Berkshires Day - Monroe, Rowe, North Adams, Clarksburg and Florida (305 - 309)

North Adams #307 - We really enjoyed walking around the town of North Adams (#307). There was a cool “art walk” that started at the Mass MoCA museum shown here. Nice little brewery and cheesesteak shop on the MoCA campus as well!
Florida #309 - Did you know you can visit Florida and stay in Massachusetts? This sculpture is on Route 2 in Florida (#309) and is a tribute to the Massachusetts Elks who died in the First World War.
Clarksburg #308 - Spent some time exploring Clarksburg State Park, in the far NW corner of the state, along the Vermont border. Picturesque small lake and beach with easy hiking trails. Loved these striking cloud formations.
Monroe #305 - Named for President James Monroe, Monroe is the second smallest town (by population) in the Commonwealth with 118 residents. The Monroe Bridge spans the Deerfield River, which is dammed at this point. When water is released the river becomes a notable whitewater destination.
Rowe #306 - Located along the Deerfield River is the decommissioned Yankee Rowe Nuclear Power Station. Opened in 1960, Yankee Rowe was the third commercial nuclear power facility in the US. It closed in 2007. Spent fuel is still kept on site.
