W Towns (#59-62) Wayland, Wesley, Weston and Waban (one of Newton's Villages)
Wellesley #61 - We walked a mile in Wellesley from the town to the college. The campus was closed to walkers due to COVID so we drove through after for this pic. Lovely town and campus!
Newton #59 - Waban is one of 13 villages in Newton. It is ranked the 3rd most affluent and well-educated zip code in the US (index based on Washington Post study). It’s where the “elites” live in one of the most elitist towns in the Commonwealth. Jim, from The Office, is from Newton .
Weston #62 - Another hoity-toity Boston suburb. Some pretty famous Boston athletes have made homes here including Bobby Orr, David Ortiz, and John Havlicek.
Wayland #59, known for never calling a snow day, was our final walk last Sunday. Ann Ross, Wayland resident for 45 years, recounted how their Superintendent of Schools(Dr. Bill Zimmerman) was a hearty New Hampshire native and UNH grad who had no need for snow days.
