#325 - 327 Stoneham (Stone zoo), Wakefield and Lynnfield
We hiked up to Lynnfield’s (#327) highest point on Bow Ridge close to sunset and were rewarded with a view of Boston (zoom in!). We continued on the trail to the Kallenberg Quarry that was the location mined for the granite used in Boston’s Custom House.
Wakefield - #326. Wakefield’s most prominent feature is Lake Quannapowitt, which is home to the oldest inland Yacht Club in the US (pictured is not one of said yachts 😉). We walked along the southern shore of the lake where the town’s expansive common is.
Stoneham (#325) We start in Stoneham, where we visited the Stone Zoo which is over 100 years old. The highlights were the Snow Leopards, Mexican Wolves, Black Bears, and this Jaguar.
