Oak Bluffs, Edgartown and West Tisbury on the Vineyard (338 - 340)

As we walked in Oak Bluffs (#338) on the Vineyard we loved exploring the the historic campground area. The first Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association was the first summer religious camp established in the United States. There are still 300 Carpenter Gothic style cottages!
Edgartown (#339) is located in the SE corner of Martha’s Vineyard and was used for principal shooting as the town of Amity in the movie Jaws. We walked along Water Street to the famous Edgartown lighthouse. Then we took the ferry (100 yds) to the island of Chappaquiddick. Chaapaquiddick is infamous for the Dike Bridge (pictured) which Senator Ted Kennedy tragically drove off resulting in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, in 1969.
A very melancholy scene unfolded for us at the southern end of West Tisbury (#340), at Long Cove. Monique Crine strolling along the shore creates an eerie scene of solitude. This walk took place at Long Point Wildlife Refuge (Trustees property).
